Gone but not forgotten
Throughout our lives we have a friend who passes away, or we know of a friend that had someone in their life pass away. The other day a fellow at my church let me know he lost his son to a motorcycle crash and the Lord laid it on my heart to have this page placed on our site to honor those who have left us. We Fought such a great fight! Thank you for fighting with me and Roosevelt. We are still in Mexico under the San Diego Border. Yesterday, August 10,2009 Roosevelt slipped into eternity. I want to say around 5:45pm pacific time. He came through surgery successfully! He was still at great risk and amazingly enough they let me go in and speak to him. I saw a little improvement and retreated to get a little rest in my room. Around 3pm they told me his right lung collapsed and the doc did a procedure to to help him. From that point on I remained with him 
till he slipped into eternity. He was calm and at peace.
Believe me i fought to get him back! I asked my heavenly father, "help me, what can I do?" He said "call him to come" and Roosevelt can decide to come back. At that point I was a bull dog, I gave all I had to get him to come my way. Then on top of that he was listening to many of you because I felt you crying out with me. I know this is supernatural but he chose to be in heaven with our loving Savior more than us. I felt him grapple and sensed that what he was experiencing was so beautiful and majestic that our voices faded in such a greater reality. I was not alone with him in the room their where 6 of us laying hands on him. When I released him it was about 10p.m.
Heaven must be so INCREDIBLE because I know just how to get my husband to come to me. (BELIEVE ME) but Heaven and Christ are greater. The last 6 weeks could never compare to the last 16 years I shared his love. Many of you know how extra-ordinary he is. You were very close to him, but I was closer. I tell you at times he was magical. I am so thankful the last four days he experienced no pain and they were able to get him off all narcotics. Many of you know that is a great miracle in itself.
some of you may say WHAT? It wasn't supposed to end like this! You are so heavy and broken hearted. Well I feel you, and like it ain't over (we still got the funeral) I told Rho he can just pop up and freak us all out! (smile) At times we ask the wrong questions though. If you are struggling... know that God miraculously exchanged my great sorrow for peace. Really its not hard to take in peace, mercy, grace, strength all it takes is a little faith. If you need it ask the Holy Spirit to give it to you like he did for me. I am reminded that in the big scope of things, life and His Kingdom are much bigger than us. I see eternity and I see life in a greater way. I can't stop trusting and believing over a mystery, neither can you. I just need you to know His ways and His kingdom are bigger than me. I am ok with that. He is still good and still in charge Still loving and fills my heart with great peace.
We are still in Mexico and we plan to have the funeral in Lakeland, Florida at Victory Church, on 1401 Griffin Road Lakeland,FL 33810 (863.859.6000). On Saturday, August 15th,2009 We will have the viewing from 9am-11am, then service and grave site from 11am - 1pm You can fly into Tampa or Orlando Florida. The funeral Home will be Gentry Morrison . In lieu of flowers, Roosevelt's great wishes would be to give to Oasis of Hope (a hospital that is effectively curing cancer) Contreras Cancer Fund c/0 Cancer Aid and Research Fund P.O.
